In-person tuition for learners who need human connection most.
When virtual support isn’t enough, we bring qualified teachers directly to the student — wherever they are.

Not every young person thrives online. Some need the reassurance of a teacher physically in the room — someone who can meet them where they are, both literally and emotionally.
Fledge’s face-to-face tuition is built for young people who are highly anxious, school-refusing, or disengaged from education altogether. Whether it’s at home, in school, in hospital, or a neutral venue, our tutors bring not just academic support, but presence, patience, and a human connection.

Ideal for:
- School-refusing young people with trauma, anxiety, or complex emotional needs
- Learners awaiting school placement
- Students with EHCPs requiring face-to-face provision
- Young people in Alternative Provision or Hospital Schools
- Families who prefer in-person support over virtual delivery
- Local Authorities and Virtual Schools requiring outreach tuition

Our Approach
Face-to-face tuition isn’t just a delivery format — it’s a relationship. We prioritise:

Trauma-informed, relationship-first practice

Building trust, routine, and emotional safety
Creating calm, supportive learning environments
Collaborative coordination with families, carers, and professionals

Adapting flexibly to the learner’s mood, needs, and capacity on any given day
What schools and families say
Our Year 10 student with severe anxiety hadn’t attended school in months. Fledge provided a calm, compassionate tutor who visited twice a week. Within six weeks, he was engaging in Maths and smiling again.
Do you cover my area?
We aim to match face-to-face tutors based on availability in your region. Let us know your location and we’ll do our best to find the right fit.
What happens if face-to-face isn’t available?
We can offer a temporary online or hybrid solution while we continue to look for a suitable face-to-face tutor.
Are sessions safe?
Yes. All tutors are DBS-checked, fully risk assessed, and trained in safeguarding. Sessions are delivered in line with our comprehensive safety protocols.
Can a parent or carer be present?
Yes — where appropriate, and if it supports the young person’s comfort and engagement. We’ll always adapt to what works best for the learner.
Some learners need more than a screen — they need someone in the room.
Submit a face-to-face referral today and we’ll handle the rest.
